Who this covers

This policy applies to the Seerie Android app, published by Seerror, a privacy-first software studio founded by Jay Tiwari in Bengaluru, India. Seerie helps you check whether a message, link, or document is a scam, and points you to India's official channels (1930, cybercrime.gov.in). Seerie provides awareness and safety guidance, not legal or financial advice.

Information we collect

To give you an account so your settings stay with you, we collect a small amount of account information:

• Email address — when you create an account with email and password, or sign in with Google.
• Account identifier — a unique ID that lets us sign you in across sessions and devices.

That is all we collect. In particular, we do not collect, store, or transmit the content you check — the messages, links, screenshots, or documents you share with Seerie. We also do not collect your location, your contacts, or analytics about how you use the app.

How the scam-checking works (on your device)

Seerie's detection runs on your phone, not on our servers:

• One-time model download. On first launch, Seerie downloads its detection model once over your internet connection. After that, all scam-checking runs fully offline on your device.
• On-device reading. When you check a message, screenshot, or document, it is read and analysed entirely on your phone. Photos and screenshots are turned into text by on-device OCR. None of this content is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
• The verdict is local. The scam / safe / verify result, the red flags, and the suggested action are all produced on your device.

So the sensitive part — the actual content you are worried about — never leaves your phone.

How you sign in

Seerie offers two ways to create an account and sign in:

• Email and password — you create an account with your email address.
• Google Sign-In — you sign in with your Google account, and we receive your email address and basic profile information through Google's standard consent screen. We do not post anything to your Google account and do not access your Google data beyond what is needed to sign you in.

Your sign-in and account information are handled through our authentication provider, which processes them solely to authenticate you and keep your account secure. It does not use your information for its own purposes.

How we use your information

We use your account information only to:

• create and secure your account,
• sign you in, and
• let you use Seerie across sessions and devices.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond running the app.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own use. Seerie runs no advertising and embeds no third-party trackers or analytics SDKs. The only third party involved is our authentication provider, which stores your account credentials purely so you can sign in.

Security

Your account data is encrypted in transit (over HTTPS) when it travels between the app and our authentication service. Data held on your device is protected by your device's own security. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to the minimum and protect it accordingly.

Your data and your choices

You stay in control of your account at all times:

• Access & update — review and change your account details from within the app.
• Delete — you can delete your account and all associated data at any time. See how to delete your data for the exact steps.

We delete your account data within 30 days of your request. Data stored on your device — your saved checks, settings, and the downloaded model — is removed when you uninstall Seerie or clear its app data in Android settings.

Children

Seerie is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note them in the app or on this page. Continued use of Seerie after an update means you accept the revised policy.
